Greeting from American John, our old friend now in the States.

锦绣说：
Hi. Dear John. It's Thanksgiving Day today. I'd like to give many many of my thanks to you for your sharing of your understanding of life and your culture.
John Droste 说:
Thank you very much, I appreciate that
John Droste 说:
How are things at the bookbar?
John Droste 说:
How is your family?
锦绣说：
Last night, Tony the returnee from the States asked me to help find an experienced American to teach his new staff both English and its culture. He also thinks that you are the most qualified teacher. The pity is you are not here in China.
John Droste 说:
I just finished making pumpkin pies, and will cook the turkey tomorrow morning
锦绣说：
Wow. You can have an original Thanksgiving meal. Mine is a copied one.
John Droste 说:
That sounds like a wonderful opportunity. I really miss my time in China and all of the friends I made there. However I am also enjoying my time I spend with my granddaughter
锦绣说：
Give me some pictures of your meal so friends in my English corner will get to know an original American Thanksgiving
John Droste 说:
I will be cooking the entire meal, turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potates, stuffing, vegetables, and pumpkin pie
John Droste 说:
Okay I will take some pictures tomorrow while I am cooking and when the meal is ready
锦绣说：
The friends here are all missing you, Uncle John.
John Droste 说:
It is still Wednesday evening here in the US.
John Droste 说:
If you would tell them I miss them also, some of my best memories took place at your bookbar

Here is Thursday but I will have a party for Thanksgiving Day tomorrow night for the conveniece of us English lovers. I do think it is a good feeling to have a sepecial occasion to give thanks...
John Droste 说:
I know the time in China, I still have my computer set to China time. I just cannot bring myself to change it back to US time.
Thanksgiving is a special time for me--this will be the first one I have spent with my granddaughter since I moved to China in 1999
John Droste 说:
I usually spent Thanksgiving at the Radisson Hotel when I was in China. There always had a pretty good Thanksgiving dinner for the foreigners.
锦绣说：
Your granddaughter must be very cute.
John Droste 说:
I wish I could say she takes after me

She helped me make the pies tonight, we had a good time

Just a little, but that is what making pies is all about, making a mess

Yes. She takes after her grandpa.
John Droste 说:
That was an early last years picture and she was 4 at that time. Her birthday is in December so she will be turning 6 this year

I really want to kiss her sweet face.
John Droste 说:
She does have her grandpa's attitude, not sure if that is good or bad
锦绣说：
You have got very positive attitude towards life. It is sure a good thing
John Droste 说:
I am hoping to be back in China sometime next year, I will make sure I come to the bookbar to see you and my other friends
John Droste 说:
I figure you only have one life, so you should make the most of it.
锦绣说：
You must still remember I often took down your witty remarks.

So recently I've got a lot of calls to show their respect and appreciation of my book bar.

BYW, I've published 4 books and have got a lot of reviews about the books.
John Droste 说:
Cancer is a good example of what I am talking about--we never know when our time will come, so even if you have cancer you still need to live your life to the fullest for as long as you can.
John Droste 说:
People like you are a real comfort and support for others who have cancer
John Droste 说:
That is the part of giving that makes live worth living, knowing you may have helped another find the strength and courage to go on living life to is fullest.
锦绣说：
Thank you, old John. I love you.
锦绣说：
And I love your philosophy of life as well.
John Droste 说:
My philosophy so simple that I hate to take any credit for it. I just find that the more I give the more I get back.
John Droste 说:
You do the same thing, you give of yourself everyday the bookbar is open and people can come in and share their lives with others.
John Droste 说:
Just think of all the people who have made so many friends while sitting around just talking with others. I know I appreciated having such a place to go to.
锦绣说：
My eyes are a bit wet with your understanding remarks.
John Droste 说:
I still look at some of the pictures I took at your bookbar and remember back to those days and the friends I made on those Friday and Sunday nights.
John Droste 说:
People who do good things for others should be recognized for what they do and from time to time someone should say Thank you! I thank you all of the time for your bookbar and your friendship.
John Droste 说:
Sorry I don't mean to make your eyes wet, but I have wanted to tell you that for a long time.
锦绣说：
Old John, this is the best gift I have received for the Thanksgiving Day. Thank you, dear John in the other side of the earth. Distance cannot stop the friendship.
John Droste 说:
I have enjoyed our talk, but now I must say goodnight. I have to be up very early to cook my turkey and have to get some sleep tonight. It will be a long day tomorrow and lots of eating to do.
John Droste 说:
Thank you for your time and hope your Thanksgiving party goes well tomorrow night
锦绣说：

Again tell everyone Hi for me and let them know I miss everyone of them.
