Recently,i began to read a book,now I am on my halfway with it.James is the protagonist, he spent most of of his childhood in China with his father working for Standard Oil in 1916. Later a Yale professor took him aside and suggested a career in intelligence, he began his career which was closely attached to Asia, especially China.Till now, the figure impresse me most is his elder brother, named Frank, who had given James a diretion as to where to go, and told him something which cotributed greatly to James life afterwards as it is written on the preface of the book my footsteps followed the footfalls of my borther,Frank.Frank was an elite, he lived by staining with effort,he excelled his fellows almost on every aspect.But he died young.Before his death,he wrote in his letter: One of the greatest questions a man must face is determining to what extent he is going to accept his environment and to what extent he is going to combat it.He never found a way to solve the problem. His words arouse echo from bottom of my heart. As we make decisions and choose what to undertake and what to abandon,we always weigh our own strength and the environment around us as well. The analytical result serves as the basis of our resolution,the precise analysis helps us know ourselves well, and locate a fitting position in the the society.The toughest part of the task is handling the precision.it’s always easier said than done.
